AI Sales Agent — Let Your Bot Actively Sell

The AI Sales Agent upgrades your WhatsApp bot from "answers questions" to "actively sells". It can recommend products, upsell, build a cart, and place cash-on-delivery orders — following a persona, autonomy level, and discount policy that you control. Configure it at Dashboard → AI Sales Agent.

Plan requirement: The AI Sales Agent is a Business plan feature. On lower plans you'll see an upgrade prompt instead of the settings.

Two guardrails that never change, regardless of settings: the agent never invents prices (every price comes from your product catalog), and placing an order always requires the customer to explicitly confirm the cart and total.

Turning It On

The Agent enabled toggle switches the sales agent on for WhatsApp. When it's off, WhatsApp replies fall back to the standard knowledge-base bot (your normal Q&A assistant).

Persona

  • Agent name (optional) — what the agent calls itself (e.g. "Sana").
  • Tone — Professional, Friendly, or Casual.
  • Sales goals / focus (optional) — free-text guidance the agent follows, e.g. "Prioritize our new arrivals; always mention free delivery over Rs. 3000."

Autonomy Level

This is the most important setting — it decides how far the agent can act on its own:

  • Suggest only — recommends products and answers questions, but never builds a cart or places an order; it hands off to a human for the actual purchase.
  • Act with confirmation (recommended) — can build a cart and place a COD order, but order placement always requires explicit customer confirmation.
  • Act — proactively adds items to the cart when the customer shows clear interest. Order placement still always requires explicit customer confirmation.

Selling Policy

  • Upsell / cross-sell — when on, the agent suggests complementary or higher-value items when it fits naturally.
  • Max discount (%) — the ceiling on any discount the agent may offer. 0 means it may never discount. Prices always start from your catalog.
  • Auto-handoff after N failed replies — if the agent can't confidently answer this many times in a row (1–10), it hands the conversation to your team so a customer never gets stuck.

Performance Dashboard

Above the settings, a Performance panel (switchable across 7 / 30 / 90 days) shows how the agent is doing:

  • Attributed orders and attributed revenue — orders the agent closed
  • Recommendation acceptance — how often customers took its suggestions
  • Upsell take-rate — how often upsells were accepted
  • Handoff rate and fallback rate — how often it escalated or couldn't answer
  • Estimated cost and conversations handled (with a note if any are near today's usage cap)
  • Agent turns per day chart, plus lists of recent agent-closed orders and recent handoffs

How It Relates to Other Features

Troubleshooting

  • I don't see the settings — the agent is a Business feature; upgrade from Dashboard → Pricing.
  • The agent isn't selling — confirm the Agent enabled toggle is on and your catalog has active products with prices.
  • It's discounting too much / not at all — adjust Max discount (0 disables discounts).
  • Customers get escalated too quickly — raise the auto-handoff threshold.
  • No performance data — metrics appear once the agent has handled conversations in the selected window.
